Description
The Predator SP2 REVO USPBS Red Curly Maple changes the picture quite a bit compared with the standard red SP2.
This is essentially the sister cue to the SP2 REVO USPBS Blue Curly Maple you posted earlier.
What Makes It Special
Real Curly Maple
Like the Blue USPBS version, this cue uses:
- Red-stained Curly Maple forearm
- Blue-stained Curly Maple collar and butt cap
- REVO carbon fiber shaft
- C4+ construction
- Extended Leather Luxe wrap
The curly maple is the key feature.
Unlike metallic paint finishes, figured curly maple creates a depth effect that changes under lighting. Every cue has slightly different grain, making each one unique.
Red USPBS vs Blue USPBS
| Feature | Blue USPBS | Red USPBS |
|---|---|---|
| Forearm | Blue Curly Maple | Red Curly Maple |
| Collar/Butt Cap | Red Curly Maple | Blue Curly Maple |
| Construction | C4+ | C4+ |
| Shaft | REVO | REVO |
| Performance | Same | Same |
| Collectability | Excellent | Excellent |
| Visual Impact | Elegant | Aggressive |
Performance is identical.
The choice is purely aesthetic:
- Blue USPBS = refined, premium, modern
- Red USPBS = bold, aggressive, tournament look
Compared to Other SP2 Models
Better than Metallic Series
In my opinion, both USPBS Curly Maple models rank above:
- SP2 Metallic Red
- SP2 Metallic Purple
- SP2 Metallic Green
because real figured wood generally ages better visually and has stronger collector appeal.
Compared to Adventura
The SP2 Adventura has beautiful Apitong wood and a unique exotic look.
The USPBS Curly Maple models have:
- More contrast
- Brighter colors
- Stronger visual presence
- Official US Pro Billiard Series branding
This becomes a matter of taste.

If I Were Buying One
For pure performance:
- P3 REVO USPBS Blue/Red
For the best balance of performance, beauty, and value:
- SP2 REVO USPBS Blue Curly Maple
For the most eye-catching tournament cue:
- SP2 REVO USPBS Red Curly Maple
The Red USPBS is probably the most visually aggressive cue in the entire SP2 lineup. The red curly maple forearm with blue accents creates a striking “USA colors” theme that stands out immediately without looking overly flashy.
